Lighting products company Philips announced their new 60 Watts replacement LED (bulb) with the product name SlimStyle.
What is in particular new is its specific shape, which is kinda flat bulb. The company solved the issue of heat by among others the adjustment of the lamp design.
In regular LED light bulbs these days, heat is led to the aluminum heatsinks in the lamps.

This new LED light, which is also dimmable, delivers 800 lumens, glows at a color-temperature of 2,700K which means a warm soft white tone.
The light, that has been submitted for qualification at Energy Star, has the standard A19 socket, is 10.5 Watts - replacing a 60 Watts incandescent bulb - and energy consumption is expected to be $1.26 per year.
One minor thing might be that, because of its somewhat flat shape, there's a slight difference in illumination around the edges.
It might happen that the price of this flat shaped LED bulb will be less - a few bucks in the near future? - as the lamp doesn't have the aluminum heatsinks, which lowers manufacturing costs.
The lamp has a great buyers rating.
